TD Garden will be electric when the Tampa Bay Lightning come to town to battle the Boston Bruins in NHL hockey action.
The Tampa Bay Lightning had been playing as well as they could given they were bitten by the injury bug but it hasn’t been all sunshine lately as the postseason is slipping away. The Lightning took another step in the wrong direction following a 5-3 loss to the visiting Arizona Coyotes. The balanced Coyotes attack featured goals from Christian Fischer, Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Christian Dvorak, Connor Murphy and Radim Vrbata. Louis Dominigue performed well between the pipes as he kept Arizona in the game with a hefty 36 stops to get the win. The Lightning offense consisted of goals from Nikita Kucherov, Victor Hedman and Vladislav Namestnikov with Andrei Vasilevskiy making 30 stops. Tampa Bay has now dropped three straight and are four points behind for the final Wild Card.
The Ottawa Senators and Boston Bruins entered Tuesday’s bout needing to shake off losses and resume their playoff chase. The Senators were the team to get back on track with a 3-2 victory at TD Garden which ended their losing streak at four and increased their lead over third place Boston to six points in the Atlantic. Kyle Turris led the Sens offense with a pair of tallies with Tom Pyatt also scoring. Mike Hoffman logged a pair of helpers and Craig Anderson gave Ottawa 30 saves in the win. The Bruins scoring came from Torey Krug and David Krejci but Tuukka Rask was charged with all three goals on 22 shots to absorb the loss which was number three in a row.
The under is 4-0 in Lightning last 4 vs. Atlantic and the under is 6-1 in Lightning last 7 vs. Eastern Conference while the Lightning are 1-5 in their last 6 Thursday games. The over is 4-0-1 in Bruins last 5 games playing on 1 days rest and the Bruins are 6-0 in their last 6 home games vs. a team with a losing road record while the over is 9-1-1 in Bruins last 11 after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game. The road team is 6-1 in the last 7 meetings and the Lightning are 6-26-3 in the last 35 meetings in Boston while the under is 9-3-1 in the last 13 meetings in Boston.
The Bruins have really fared well at home versus Tampa Bay and defense has ruled so my lean is Boston for now with goalies not confirmed…
