The Line: Boston Bruins -135 / Tampa Bay Lightning +115 --- Over/Under: 5.5
Wednesday NHL action brings us to TD Garden where the Boston Bruins host the Tampa Bay Lightning in game three of their NHL playoff series.
The Boston Bruins opportunity at road sweep of Tampa Bay and a 2-0 series lead went by the wayside in 4-2 defeat at Amalie Arena on Monday night. Both ends of the ice came up a bit short with a third period rally never coming to fruition.
Charlie McAvoy and Torey Krug supplied the offense for the Bruins while Brad Marchand added a pair of helpers. Tuukka Rask absorbed the loss for Boston with three goals allowed on 30 shots to fall to 5-4 in the postseason.
Tampa Bay put forth quality performances at both ends of the ice to rebound from a dreadful series opener in Monday’s 4-2 win versus visiting Boston. Yanni Gourde opened the scoring for the Lightning in the first with Tyler Johnson lighting the lamp in the second.
Ondrej Palat gave Tampa Bay a 3-1 advantage in the third before Brayden Point hit the empty net with 26 seconds remaining. Palat also logged an assist while Point completed a four point effort night with three helpers to make a winner of Andrei Vasilevskiy and his 18 saves.
Over is 2-0-2 in Lightning last 4 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600 and under is 4-0 in Lightning last 4 Wednesday games and over is 13-3 in Lightning last 16 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game. Bruins are 4-0 in their last 4 when their opponent allows 2 goals or less in their previous game and Bruins are 7-1 in their last 8 Wednesday games and over is 11-2-4 in Bruins last 17 home games. Lightning are 7-29-3 in the last 39 meetings in Boston and under is 4-1-2 in the last 7 meetings and under is 3-1-2 in the last 6 meetings in Boston.
Boston had their chances in game two despite just 20 shots and I think they respond in game three at home…
