Tampa Bay Lightning (60-25-5) at Boston Bruins (55-25-12)
|Date & Time||Friday May 4, 2018, 7:00 PM (EDT)|
The Line: Boston Bruins -160 / Tampa Bay Lightning +140 --- Over/Under: 5.5
The Boston Bruins welcome the Tampa Bay Lightning to TD Garden for game four of their NHL playoff series.
The Boston Bruins were in a good spot at home in game three with an impressive home record versus Tampa Bay but it was the Lightning who were dominant in a 4-1 victory on Wednesday and a 2-1 series lead.
Boston never got their offense untracked aside from a 14 barrage in the first period and now face an almost ‘must’ win scenario in game four. Patrice Bergeron scored on the power play in the first on assists from David Pastrnak and Rick Nash while Tuuka Rask gave up three goals on 36 shots.
The Lightning took control early with a three goal salvo in the opening 20 minutes before a suffocating defense took over. Ondrej Palat scored the first two goals and Anthony Cirelli’s tally gave Tampa Bay a 3-1 lead.
The Lightning saw Steven Stamkos hit the empty net with 42 seconds remaining for his first goal of the series while Victor Hedman added a pair of helpers. Andrei Vasilevskiy gave Tampa Bay 28 saves and improved to 6-2 in the postseason.
Over is 5-1 in Lightning last 6 Friday games and Lightning are 4-1 in their last 5 vs. Eastern Conference and Lightning are 4-1 in their last 5 vs. Atlantic. Over is 6-1-4 in Bruins last 11 home games and Bruins are 1-5 in their last 6 games playing on 1 days rest and Bruins are 1-4 in their last 5 Conference Semifinals games. Under is 3-0-1 in the last 4 meetings in Boston and under is 5-1-2 in the last 8 meetings and Lightning are 8-29-3 in the last 40 meetings in Boston.
I think this is a game the Bruins have to win or risk falling in to a 3-1 series hole. Having said that I don’t like the line and will look at a few options as I look further in to this…
