The Washington Capitals take the ice at the Boston Bruins in Saturday NHL.

The Capitals received a pair of goals from Lars Eller with the second coming with 3:21 left in regulation to break a 3-3 tie. Taylor Chorney and Alex Chiasson  also lit the lamp while John Carlson and Chandler Stephenson added a pair of assists each to lift Caps goalie Braden Holtby and his 36 stops to the win.

The Islanders offense saw scoring from John Tavares and Anders Lee on the power play with Lee scoring his second at 7:00 of the third. Josh Bailey posted two helpers but it wasn’t enough to save New York with Jaroslav Halak giving up four goals on 19 shots.

It seems that whenever these teams meet the defense and goaltenders take control of the game which has me looking at the under until I know who is in the nets…

Pick:
under 6 // UPDATE: Caps team total over 2.5 @ -112 is the pick

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
