The Buffalo Sabres welcome the Arizona Coyotes to town for an NHL tilt on Thursday.
The Arizona Coyotes have followed a four game winning streak with a three game skid following a 4-3 loss at Boston on Tuesday. Nick Schmaltz and Nick Cousins scored in the first for a 2-0 Arizona lead with Michael Bunting lighting the lamp in the third. Darcy Kuemper absorbed the loss for the Coyotes with four goals allowed on 26 shots.
Brad Marchand led a four goal Boston second with a pair of tallies with Danton Heinan and David Pastrnak also supplying markers. Pastrnak assisted twice and David Krejci added three helpers for the Bruins who received 30 saves from Tuukka Rask.
The Buffalo Sabres finally ended a five game slide with a 4-3 OT victory against the visiting LA Kings on Tuesday. Jake Muzzin, Matt Luff and Adrian Kempe scored for the Kings and Cal Petersen gave up four goals on 47 shots.
The Sabres scoring came off the sticks of Zemgus Girgensons, Jack Eichel and Johan Larsson in regulation with Jeff Skinner netting the winner in overtime. Rasmus Ristolainen posted two helpers and Linus Ullmark gave up three goals on 29 shots to get the win for Buffalo.
