The Edmonton Oilers are eyeing a three game winning streak after recording a 4-0 victory at Columbus on Saturday. The Blue Jackets ran in to solid goaltending but Sergei Bobrovsky struggled between the pipes with four goals allowed on 19 shots before Joonas Korpisalo stopped five shots in relief.
The Oilers received goals off the sticks of Zack Kassian, Josh Currie, Leon Draisaitl and Alex Chiasson. Draisaitl and Kris Russell assisted twice and Connor McDavid added three helpers for Edmonton and Mikko Koskinen stopped 30 shots to get the win.
The Buffalo Sabres need a change in momentum after a 5-2 defeat at Toronto on Saturday left the team with losses in three of four. Jason Pominville and Conor Sheary scored first period goals for the Sabres and Linus Ullmark gave up four goals on 31 shots to get the loss.
The balanced Maple Leafs saw scoring from John Tavares, Morgan Rielly, Nic Petan, Nikita Zaitsev and Mitch Marner. Marner and Tavares added a pair of assists for Toronto and Frederik Anderson stopped 35 shots to pick up the win.
Oilers are 2-5 in their last 7 road games and Oilers are 5-13 in their last 18 overall and Oilers are 3-8 in their last 11 vs. Eastern Conference.
Sabres are 6-2 in their last 8 vs. Pacific and Sabres are 2-7 in their last 9 overall and Sabres are 1-4 in their last 5 vs. Western Conference.
