The Florida Panthers go on the road to face the Buffalo Sabres in an Atlantic NHL matchup.
The Florida Panthers are trying to escape the basement in the Atlantic and are hoping a 4-3 OT win against Toronto is the start. Toronto scored three times in the third with Mitch Marner lighting the lamp twice and John Tavares supplying a goal. Jake Gardiner and Morgan Rielly each had two helpers while Frederik Andersen gave up four goals on 33 shots for the Leafs.
Aleksander Barkov led Florida with a hat trick including the overtime winner with Jonathan Huberdeau adding a third period marker. Mike Hoffman assisted twice for the Panthers who saw Roberto Luongo allow three goals on 32 shots.
The Buffalo Sabres have followed a four game slide with wins in three of four after upending Boston 4-2 on Sunday. Steven Kampfer and Torey Krug found the back of the net for the Bruins with Tuukka Rask allowing three goals on 26 shots.
Jeff Skinner and Jack Eichel led the Sabres offense with a pair of markers each. Eichel, Sam Reinhart and Rasmus Dahlin gave Buffalo a pair of helpers each and Linus Ullmark allowed both goals on 37 shots to get the win.
