The Panthers look to shake off a road loss in Detroit last night as they head into Buffalo to battle the Sabres.
The Florida Panthers were blanked at the Joe last night and will look for a better effort on Tuesday as they face off against a Sabres side who is looking to stay in the running in the Atlantic division playoff race. The Cats still sit six points clear of the Lightning for first place in the division but things will get interesting if they can’t find ways to win on the road and even though the Sabres haven’t been strong this season they have been much better of late and Robin Lehner offers some confidence in the Buffalo crease. Roberto Luongo will be back in net for the Panthers who are14-9-3 on the road this season and face a Sabres side that is 9-15-3 at the First Niagara Center this season.
The Sabres head into Tuesday’s game sitting a single point up on the Maple Leafs for last place in the division and they are certainly still in the running to land a lottery pick in the draft and with the trade deadline fast approaching we can anticipate some current members have their days numbered. Buffalo has a bright future and again are a much better team with Lehner in the crease but this is a tough spot for them against a Panthers side that is coming off a loss against the Wings last night and couldn’t muster a single goal. I like Florida to rebound with Luongo back in the net.
