Wednesday night NHL action features the Buffalo Sabres hosting the Minnesota Wild.
The Minnesota Wild visit the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday for the first of back to back road contests. Minnesota will be looking to avoid a three game slide after a 4-3, overtime loss to the New Jersey Devils on Monday. The Wild rallied from a 3-1 third period deficit on two goals off the stick of Mikael Granlund with Nino Niederreiter scoring on the PP in the second. Mikko Koivu posted two assists and Devan Dubnyk stopped 21 shots in the loss.
John Moore saved the day for New Jersey with his goal 52 seconds in to the extra session. The Devils saw scoring from Adam Henrique, Will Butcher and Steven Santini with Henrique rounding off a three point night with a pair of helpers. Corey Schneider picked up the win with 33 saves that ended the Devils two game skid.
The Buffalo Sabres play their 5th consecutive home game when the Minnesota Wild take the ice on Wednesday. Buffalo has been struggling with six straight defeats following a 3-2 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Monday night. The Sabres scored twice in the third on goals from Sam Reinhart and Evander Kane but the rally ran out of time. Buffalo received 27 stops from Robi Lehner in defeat.
The Blue Jackets received soring from Pierre-Luc Dubois, Artemi Panarin and Boone Jenner with Markus Nutivaara posting a pair of helpers. Columbus received a 30 save performance from Sergei Bobrovsky to raise his record to 12-4-1 as the Blue Jackets won their 4th straight.

I don’t see a ton of scoring in this series so I’m tempted to look at the under pending goalies…
