Tuesday NHL action pits the Minnesota Wild at the Buffalo Sabres.
The Minnesota Wild are looking at back to back losses after a 4-3 OT loss to visiting Chicago on Saturday. Jason Zucker, Mikko Koivu and Victor Rask supplied markers for Minnesota. Alex Stalock gave up four goals on 31 shots for the Wild to fall to 6-5-1.
Erik Gustafsson led Chicago with two goals including the overtime winner while Alex Debrincat and Jonathan Toews also found the back of the net. Debrincat added a pair of helpers with Dominik Kahun and Dylan Strome logging two helpers each for the Blackhawks to make a winner of Collin Delia and his 28 stops.
The Buffalo Sabres opened the second half of the season with consecutive defeats after a 7-3 loss to visiting Chicago on Friday. Buffalo received scoring from Jack Eichel, Jason Pominville and Kyle Okposo. Jeff Skinner assisted twice for the Sabres with Carter Hutton getting the loss with four goals allowed on 22 shots before Linus Ullmark stopped 5-7 shots.
Brandon Saad and Patrick Kane led the Chicago scoring explosion with a pair of goals each with Drake Caggiula, Duncan Keith and Connor Murphy adding markers.
Caggiula and Kane also had a pair of assists to lift the Blackhawks and the 40 saves of Cam Ward to the victory.
Under is 3-0-1 in Wild last 4 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and Wild are 0-6 in their last 6 when their opponent allows 5 goals or more in their previous game and under is 4-1 in Wild last 5 Tuesday games.
Over is 4-0 in Sabres last 4 home games and over is 5-0 in Sabres last 5 Tuesday games and over is 8-1 in Sabres last 9 overall. Wild are 5-0 in the last 5 meetings in Buffalo and road team is 17-5 in the last 22 meetings and Wild are 8-3 in the last 11 meetings.
I don’t think either side is playing well enough to back the juice so something on the Wild in a tossup…
