The Buffalo Sabres welcome the Nashville Predators in a Tuesday NHL tilt.
The Nashville Predators were denied a third straight win in a 5-2 loss to visiting Columbus on Saturday. Viktor Arvidsson scored a shorthanded first period goal for Nashville with Filip Forsberg netting a second period goal. Juuse Saros was charged with four goals on 32 shots to get the loss for the Predators.
Cam Atkinson paced Columbus with a pair of tallies with David Savard, Oliver Bjorkstrand and Boone Jenner also finding the scoring column. Matt Duchene assisted twice and Artemi Panarin added four helpers for the Blue Jackets to make the 23 saves of Sergei Bobrovsky a winner.
The slumping Buffalo Sabres are staring at losses in 14-15 following a 4-0 defeat to visiting Columbus on Sunday. Buffalo did total 38 shots but Linus Ullmark struggled between the pipes with four goals allowed on 36 shots.
Columbus took control early with Pierre-Luc Dubois, Oliver Bjorkstrand and Nick Foligno scoring in the first with Josh Anderson finding the back of the net in the third. Dubois completed a three point night with two helpers and Sergei Bobrovsky recorded 38 saves for the Blue Jackets.
Predators are 5-1 in their last 6 vs. a team with a losing record and Predators are 4-1 in their last 5 road games and Predators are 5-2 in their last 7 vs. Atlantic.
Sabres are 17-37 in their last 54 games playing on 1 days rest and Sabres are 14-40 in their last 54 overall and Sabres are 21-65 in their last 86 vs. Central.
Favorite is 8-3 in the last 11 meetings and Predators are 8-3 in the last 11 meetings and Predators are 7-0 in the last 7 meetings in Buffalo.
The juice is extreme in my view but I understand why. The worry here is Buffalo rises up and wins a game and they will at some point…
