The Islanders look to continue their success against the Atlantic division as they head into Buffalo to take on the Sabres.
The Islanders are looking to extend their hitting parade on the bottom feeders of the Atlantic division as they travel from Toronto to Buffalo looking to take over second place in the Metro division and send the Sabres to their second loss in as many nights. New York put up six goals on the Buds on Tuesday night and will look for a repeat effort against a Sabres team who allowed five to the Capitals in DC last night and will likely be starting Linus Ullmark in place of Chad Johnson. The Islanders will likely counter with Thomas Greiss who has been great in relief of Jaro Halak this season.
The Sabres fell back into the Atlantic division basement with a loss and a Toronto win yesterday and are now three games under .500 and a full 10 points behind the third place Boston Bruins. Buffalo has had some flashes of brilliance this season as rookie sensation Jack Eichel looks to be the real deal and with a great core and prospects in the system ready to make the jump this is going to be a great team very soon. However, for the time being they will be treated as a whipping post by the rest of the league and while some instances they will be able to match up and counter I am not entirely sure this is one of them. New York is playing well and needs a win here to jump into second and I think they get it.
