The Sabres look for their second win in as many nights as they return home to face off against the Rangers on Tuesday night.
The New York Rangers head into Buffalo to battle the Sabres on Tuesday as they look to shake off a tough loss against their cross town rivals and distance themselves from the Isles in the Metropolitan division. The Blue Shirts have played three more games than the Isles and hold just a three point edge in the standings but with a very winnable game in this one they could make up some ground and keep their place of home ice in the opening round in tact. The health of Henrik Lundqvist is a concern though as Antii Raanta got the nod against the Islanders and he could very well get the nod here against Robin Lehner who had the night off in Toronto last night.
The Sabres are coming off a 4-3 shootout win over the Toronto Maple Leafs last night and will look to continue their second half surge as they take on a Rangers side that is a very modest 15-15-3 on the road this season. Buffalo has looked very different with Robin Lehner in the crease and are shaping up to be a very competitive team in the very near future and with New York coming in after a loss to the Islanders this could be an upset spot for the Sabres. With New York needing a win and the Sabres playing in a back to back in which they gave up three goals to Toronto last night I anticipate this one being much lower scoring and coming in under the total.
