NHL action comes to the KeyBank Center where the Buffalo Sabres host the Ottawa Senators on Wednesday.
The Ottawa Senators have been struggling at the defensive end of the ice and that cost the team in a 6-5 loss to the Winnipeg Jets on Monday. Ottawa saw Thomas Chabot and Matt Duchene score two goals each with Christian Wolanin also lighting the lamp while Craig Anderson allowed six goals on 40 shots.
Blake Wheeler topped the Winnipeg scoring parade with two goals while Andrew Copp, Josh Morrissey, Brandon Tanev and Mathieu Perreault also found the scoring column. Mark Scheifele and Adam Lowry gave the Jets two assists each and Connor Hellebuyck picked up the win with five goals given up on 37 shots.
The Buffalo Sabres have had problems getting their scoring and defense on the same page and that cost the team in a 5-2 loss at the Toronto Maple Leafs. Buffalo received power play goals from Sam Reinhart and Jason Pominville while Chad Johnson gave up five goals on 36 shots.
The Maple Leafs attack featured William Nylander and Auston Matthews scoring a pair of goals each with Andreas Johnsson also lighting the lamp. All three added helpers for Toronto and Curtis McElhinney picked up the win with 32 saves.
