The Sabres return home after a loss to the Penguins last night as they welcome the Flyers to town who are coming off a loss of their own against the Devils last night.
The Philadelphia Flyers had a great opportunity to lock up another home ice victory on Thursday night as they hosted the New Jersey Devils but they came out completely flat and were badly outplayed by a Devils team who is starting to surprise some people. The Flyers take to the road looking for just their second win away from home and head into Buffalo who hasn't been able to beat many people anywhere over the last couple of seasons which should give the Flyers some confidence. Michael Neuvirth, was having a very strong start to the season before getting injured, is slated to return tonight giving the Flyers the edge in goal as Buffalo will likely stick with Chad Johnson.
The Sabres are still a couple of years away from being competitive and while it is nice to see their young guns performing well right now it is tough to expect them to keep it up over the long haul and get them into a wild card spot. Buffalo is playing on back to back nights with a bit of travel thrown in for good measure but two of their three wins have come on home ice which should give them something to lean on tonight. The Flyers are a tough team to handicap as they should be beating teams they lose to and losing to teams they win against. I will try again with them here as they are the better team with the better situation and should have enough to get the win.
