The Capitals look to continue their impressive season and win their sixth game in a row as they head into Buffalo to battle the Sabres.
The Washington Capitals have taken the league by storm this season and possess a very impressive 33-7-3 record which has them in front of the Chicago Blackhawks by five points for the league’s best record. The Caps have been in this position during Alex Ovechkin’s tenure but they haven’t done it with so much conviction and so much balance and it is actually another player in the form of goaltender Braden Holtby who has stolen most of the headlines this season. The Caps also have a ton of other weapons in the offensive zone as youngster Evgeny Kuznetsov is on the brink of super stardom and will be a huge part of the team’s success moving forward.
The Sabres meanwhile are coming off a 4-1 loss at home against the Bruins last night and things don’t get any easier with the Caps on the docket tonight. Buffalo has a lot to forward to in the coming years as they have a solid group of young stars that will get them bac into the playoffs in the near future but in the moment they are going to be hard time come by wins. Buffalo is 8-14-2 at home this season and welcome in a Caps side that is 16-4-2 on the road which is the best mark in the league. Buffalo will get theirs. Just not here.
