The Washington Capitals pay a visit to the Buffalo Sabres in a Saturday NHL tilt.

The Washington Capitals have won four of five following a 3-2 victory at Toronto on Thursday. Andreas Johnsson and John Tavares score in the third for the Maple Leafs with Frederik Andersen getting the loss with three goals allowed on 28 shots.

The Capitals received scoring off the sticks of Alex. Ovechkin, Brett Connolly and. Tom Wilson. Wilson also assisted and Lars Eller added two helpers to make a winner of Braden Holtby and his 42 stops.

The Buffalo Sabres saw their losing streak reach four games in a 2-1 SO defeat at Tampa Bay on Thursday. Rasmus Dahlin scored a first period goal for Buffalo but the team was shutout in the shootout and Carter Hutton made 39 saves to salvage a point.

Nikita Kucherov lit the lamp in the second period on an assist from Tyler Johnson. Steven Stamkos and Kucherov scored in the shootout for the Lightning who saw Andrei Vasilevskiy record 29 saves.

Capitals are 21-7 in their last 28 Saturday games and Capitals are 14-5 in their last 19 games as a road favorite and Capitals are 84-32 in their last 116 vs. Atlantic.
Sabres are 3-12 in their last 15 games playing on 1 days rest and Sabres are 0-4 in their last 4 overall and Sabres are 0-4 in their last 4 vs. Eastern Conference.

Capitals are 5-2 in the last 7 meetings in Buffalo and home team is 8-2 in the last 10 meetings and under is 3-0-2 in the last 5 meetings in Buffalo.

The Capitals are a team I like to avoid betting because they are always a favorite and over valued but I’ll throw this out there…

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
