The Ducks look to snap their mini two game slide as they continue their Western Canada road trip in Calgary against the Flames.
The Anaheim Ducks will look to keep pace in the race for the President's Trophy and get back in the win column at the same time as they head into Cow Town to battle the Flames at the Saddledome. The Ducks have been as consistent as they come this season and continue to maintain the largest division lead in the league and while it isn't in the books officially their place in the playoffs seems like a formality at this point and any other recognition will be a bonus. The Ducks have a scary roster and as such they are slight road favourites here against a Flames team without Mark Giordano but is in desperation mode as the season winds down. Frederik Andersen will get the start as he will go up against Karri Ramo.
The Flames are at a critical juncture in their season as they have had a fairy tale stretch so far but it could be all for not if they don;t make the playoffs as sitting on the cusp of hockey's second season would be considered a failure in their eyes. Calgary has taken the league by storm and certainly are deserving of a playoff spot but without their best player it might be a tough task to achieve and games like this against the league's elite are true litmus tests for where this team sits. Despite Anaheim's success this season they haven't fared too well in goal differential and the Flames actually have a better mark and as a home dog who needs the win more I think they get it.
