The Line: Calgary Flames -105 / Anaheim Ducks -105 --- Over/Under: 5.5
The Calgary Flames welcome the Anaheim Ducks to the Scotiabank Saddledome for a NHL tilt on Wednesday.
The Anaheim Ducks are looking to improve upon their playoff position in the final weeks of the regular season. Anaheim has racked up three consecutive victories after downing New Jersey 4-2 with Kyle Palmieri and Patrick Maroon scoring for the Devils while Keith Kinkaid allowed four goals on 36 shots.
The Ducks received scoring off the sticks of Ryan Getzlaf, Jakob Silfverberg, Brandon Montour and Rickard Rakell. Getzlaf and Rakell also added assists for Anaheim who saw John Gibson up his record to 28-17-6 with a 15 save performance.
The Calgary Flames have been really struggling to string wins together with the team having issues at both ends of the ice. Those issues have led to a three game skid following a 5-2 loss at Arizona where Dougie Hamilton and Sean Monahan scored for the Flames with Mike Smith making 25 sops in defeat.
The explosive Coyotes offense received two goals from both Max Domi and Oliver Ekman-Larsson while Richard Panik also reached the scoring column. Derek Stepan added a pair of helpers for Arizona with Antti Raanta improving to 16-16-6 behind a 42 save effort.
Over is 6-0 in Ducks last 6 after allowing 2 goals or less in their previous game and under is 6-1 in Ducks last 7 road games and under is 5-1-1 in Ducks last 7 Wednesday games. Flames are 0-5 in their last 5 vs. a team with a winning record and over is 6-1 in Flames last 7 when their opponent allows 2 goals or less in their previous game and Flames are 1-5 in their last 6 vs. Western Conference. Under is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings and Ducks are 4-1 in the last 5 meetings in Calgary and Ducks are 39-13 in the last 52 meetings.
The Flames haven’t been playing well for awhile and even though Calgary is on home ice I think Anaheim is worth a small stake…
