The Calgary Flames look to even their series with the Anaheim Ducks at Scotiabank Saddledome on Friday.

The Anaheim Ducks mastery of the Calgary Flames came to an end for at least a few days with a 4-3, overtime defeat at the Scotiabank Saddledome on Tuesday night. This appeared to be another win for the Ducks but the Flames tied it 3-3 with just under 20 seconds remaining and ended it with under 4 ½ minutes gone in the extra session. The Ducks never trailed until the end with Patrick Maroon, Corey Perry and Matt Belesky each lighting the lamp with Frederik Andersen allowing all four goals on 21 shots. The series lead was cut to 2-1 with game four scheduled for Friday night while Anaheim finally tasted defeat for the first time in the postseason.

The Calgary Flames faced the prospect of a 0-3 deficit to the Anaheim Ducks Tuesday night but are probably breathing a sigh of relief after a thrilling 4-3, victory in OT at the Scotiabank Saddledome. The Flames pulled Karri Ramo and had a five on three advantage before Johnny Gaudreau netted the equalizer with a mere 19.5 ticks left to erase a 3-2 Ducks lead. Mikael Backlund potted the game winner 4:24 in to overtime and the Flames went from an 0-3 series hole to a 2-1 deficit in a matter of less then five minutes. Brandon Bollig and Joe Colborne also tallied for Calgary who received 18 saves in what was equal to a season saving victory against a team who had their number. The trick is doing it again.

The Anaheim Ducks are 6-1 in their last 7 vs. a team with a winning record and  are 4-1 in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a winning home record while going 6-1 in their last 7 road games. The  Flames are 6-0 in their last 6 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600 and  are 6-0 in their last 6 home games. The home team is 43-10 in the last 53 meetings and the over is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings in Calgary while going  5-1 in the last 6 meetings. No line has been released although I’ll be looking at the over in the meantime…

Anaheim -145

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
