The Scotiabank Saddledome and the Calgary Flames host the Arizona Coyotes in a Tuesday NHL tilt.

The Arizona Coyotes have struggled the majority of 2017-18 but the team has been playing best hockey. Arizona has won three of four after dominating playoff hopeful St. Louis 6-0 on Saturday Jake Allen stopped 12-14 with Carter Hutton allowing four goals on 19 shots.

The explosive Coyotes saw Luke Schenn, Richard Panik, Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Jacob Chychrun, Alex Goligoski and Zac Rinaldo all find the scoring column. Max Domni and Dylan Strome each gave Arizona three helpers and Antti Raanta made 34 saves.

The Calgary Flames appeared to be poised for a run at  the postseason but struggles at both ends of the ice have been too much to overcome. Calgary comes in off of a 3-2 win versus Edmonton where Anton Slepyshev and Michael Cammalleri scored for the Oilers.

The Flames saw Dougie Hamilton, Garnet Hathaway and Mikael Backlund all score in the first period. Michael Frolik added a pair of helpers and Mike Smith picked up the win for Calgary with 34 saves while Cam Talbot gave up three goals on seven shots before Al Montoya stopped 13 shots in relief.

Coyotes are 5-1 in their last 6 vs. Pacific and Coyotes are 5-1 in their last 6 after scoring 5 goals or more in their previous game and Coyotes are 4-1 in their last 5 vs. a team with a losing record. Over is 4-0 in Flames last 4 games playing on 2 days rest and Flames are 0-5 in their last 5 games playing on 2 days rest and Flames are 1-7 in their last 8 overall. Under is 6-1 in the last 7 meetings in Calgary and Coyotes are 3-11 in the last 14 meetings in Calgary and Coyotes are 2-7 in the last 9 meetings.

The Coyotes might still be a scary bet but if I were going to touch this game I would take the Arizona with the nice odds and no other reason…

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
