The Edmonton Oilers finish off their season with a trip to Calgary against the Flames in a Battle of Alberta show down on Saturday night.

The Oilers endured another tumultuous season both on and off the ice as they have moved on from a handful of players and sent both their general manager and head coach packing at different times this season as they have fallen short of the playoffs once again. Edmonton was in the mix for most of the season but since the all-star break they haven’t been able to generate enough consistency to really play their way into the Western Conference wild card hunt despite a spectacular season from both Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl who both eclipsed the 100-point mark. Edmonton is 16-36 in their last 52 games as an underdog and winless in their last 4 road games which doesn’t bode well for them here as they are 8-18 in their last 26 meetings in Calgary and the home side is 5-1 in the last 6 games in this series.

The Flames meanwhile have had the complete opposite season as their provincial counterparts as they earned top seed in the Western Conference and will be facing off against the second wild card team which will be determined on Saturday night. Calgary is 6-2 in their last 8 games against a team with a losing record and are 5-2 in their last 7 games against Pacific division foes and have absolutely dominated the Oilers over the last couple of seasons and most of the action between these two sides usually results in a high scoring affair. The Over is 7-2-1 in the last 10 meetings in Calgary and the Flames are 6-2 in their last 8 games as a home favorite which bodes well for them here against an Oilers side who will have their season come to an end after the game.

The Oilers are 8-21 in their last 29 against the Western Conference and 3-11 in their last 14 Saturday games while the Flames are 13-6 in their last 19 Saturday games and 35-16 in their last 51 as a favorite. This one has the makings of being a classic and the Over is well in the running here in what should be a high scoring contest.
