The New York Islanders head to the Calgary Flames for a Wednesday NHL tilt.

The New York Islanders have been heating up with wins in five of six after routing Edmonton 5-2 on Saturday. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Leon Draisaitl scored for the Oilers while Mikko Koskinen took the loss with four goals allowed on 23 shots.

Ryan Pulock, Valtteri Filpulla, Mathew Barzal, Anders Lee and Brock Nelson lit the lamp for New York. Josh Bailey and Devon Toews each supplied two assists for the Islanders and Robin Lehner stopped 34 shot to pick up the win.

The Calgary Flames have won consecutive contests following a 5-2 victory versus visiting Arizona on Monday. Conor Garland and Jordan Weal tallied for the Coyotes with Calvin Pickard allowing four goals on 32 shots to get the loss.

Derek Ryan, Mark Giordano, Austin Czarnik, Michael Frolik and Mikael Backlund all lit the lamp for Calgary. Elias Lindholm and Rasmus Andersson added a pair of helpers for the Flames and Mike Smith picked up the win with 27 saves.
Islanders are 4-1 in their last 5 vs. Pacific and Islanders are 21-7 in their last 28 overall and
Islanders are 12-5 in their last 17 games following a win.

Flames are 6-1 in their last 7 vs. Metropolitan and Flames are 22-9 in their last 31 games as a favorite and Flames are 7-3 in their last 10 games following a win.

Under is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings and Islanders are 6-2 in the last 8 meetings.

Both teams have solid records and Calgary is really tough at home but I would avoid the juice…

NY Islanders +142

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
