The Rangers look to shake off a loss to the Oilers on Friday and salvage a split in Alberta as they head into Calgary on Saturday.
The New York Rangers looked out of sorts on the road in Edmonton last night and while the Oilers have been playing very well of late it is unusual to see the Rangers concede five goals let alone to a team sitting in last place. The Blue Shirts have a chance to respond on Saturday though as Antii Raanta will get the call as the Rangers look to snap their two game losing skid and play their way out of a 3-6-1 mark in their last 10. New York is 6-5-2 on the road this season while the Flames are 9-5 at home.
The Calgary Flames find themselves in last place in the Pacific division heading into action on Saturday despite being in the midst of a four game winning streak but they can quickly play out of that with a victory here against the Rangers. The Flames are 6-3-1 in their last 10 contests and are starting to look like the team we saw make the playoffs a year ago and while they still have a ton of work to do they have certainly shed their slow start and can build on plenty of positives over the last two weeks. Calgary is in tough here as they face a Rangers side coming off a tough loss and while the Flames are playing well I think a mad Rangers team that wants to avoid a Western Canada sweep is a tough out.
