The Penguins look to complete the Alberta sweep after beating the Oilers last night as they head into Calgary to battle the Flames.
The Pittsburgh Penguins appear to have found their stride and after a win in Edmonton last night extended their winning streak to six games they are very much in the mix in the Metro division. Pittsburgh is 9-4 on the season and sit in third place but are just two points out of first and are looking like a team on a mission despite their goal scoring production being a bit underwhelming. The Penguins are serious contenders in the Eastern Conference and with Jeff Zatkoff getting the team some wins and allowing Marc-Andre Fleury to take some nights off it makes things even better for them as they can afford to give some of their key players some much needed rest. Fleury is expected to get back in the crease tonight as he will go up against Karri Ramo.
The Flames are coming off a victory in their last outing but still sit in last place in the Pacific division and have just four victories through their first 14 games and don't look good in this spot against the Pens. Calgary does have the roster to be competitive in the West but at the moment is looks like last season was a bit of a fluke and that they are playing to their potential at the moment and with a young group being the core of their franchise it does make a bit of sense. The Flames will turn it around but the Pens are rolling right now and to step in front of that is a huge mistake right now.
