After a hot start to the season the Flames have come back down to earth recently with losses in four of their last five games. They're giving up a lot of goals during that stretch and anyone who looked at their goaltending situation heading into the season knew that this was going to be a big issue this year. You don't go from having a guy like Miikka Kiprusoff in net to guys like Joey MacDonald and Karri Ramo and expect to keep things status quo. It's an issue they're going to have to deal with for now but that puts more pressure on their forwards up front to not only score but provide excellent defense in their own zone. They'll be challeneged immensely on Saturday night with Alexander Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals in town. Washington has scored 13 goals in their last three games, wins over the Winnipeg Jets and Edmonton Oilers, and they have to be licking their chops for this match up on Saturday night. Calgary should come out strong here in front of the home crowd and this game could be all about who gets the early momentum.
