Friday NHL action pits the Anaheim Ducks at the Carolina Hurricanes.
The Anaheim Ducks continued to play well with wins in four of five after squeezing by Florida 3-2 on the road Wednesday. The Panthers received second period goals from Aaron Ekblad and Evgenii Dadonov for a short lived 2-1 lead. Jonathan Huberdeau logged a pair of helpers and James Reimer took the loss for Florida with all three goals allowed on 25 shots.
Josh Manson gave Anaheim a 1-0 lead just 15 seconds in to the game with Nick Ritchie scoring the equalizer in the second. Ritchie netted the winner with 1:28 remaining in the third and John Gibson recorded 42 saves to pick up the win for the Ducks.
The Carolina Hurricanes have enjoyed a recent surge with wins in four of five after downing Montreal 2-1 Tuesday at the Bell Centre. Phillip Danault scored in the third for the Canadiens with Carey Price getting the loss with 20 stops.
The Hurricanes received a first period goal from Victor Rask with Trevor van Riemsdyk scoring in the second for a 2-0 advantage. Curtis McElhinney came up huge for Carolina with a 48 save performance.
