The Boston Bruins look to extend their success against divisional foes as they head into Carolina to take on the Hurricanes on Tuesday night.
The Bruins look to continue their success on the road as they take on the Canes in Raleigh on Tuesday and with a victory the B’s can move to 18-7 in their last 25 road games and improve to 8-0 in their last eight contests against division rivals. Boston could very well chase down the Lightning for top spot in the division but at the moment it looks like they are on a crash course for a first round show down with the Toronto Maple Leafs, and a win here would create a bit of separation in the Atlantic division standings. Boston is an impressive 14-2 in their last 16 Tuesday games but the home team is 5-0 in the last five meetings between these two sides and after a pivotal loss last night against the Rangers the Canes need to be rebound in a big way tonight.
The Hurricanes are in the mix for a wild card spot in the Eastern Conference but at the moment they aren’t looking like a credible option as they are 1-4 in their last five home games and have dropped eight of their last 10 against Eastern Conference opponents. Carolina has picked a very inopportune time to go cold as they are falling out of the playoff picture in the Eastern Conference and perhaps that is a blessing in disguise as they aren’t quite at the level of the league’s elite and they could greatly benefit from another top end draft pick and with each passing day they are moving towards a better draft pick and a loss here against the Bruins looks more than plausible according to the oddsmakers.
The Bruins are 17-7 in their last 24 road games and 22-5 in their last 27 against the East while the Canes are 3-8 in their last 11 overall and are 1-4 in their last five home games. Boston is going to be a big favourite here but they are the play as they get it done in regulation here against the Canes.
