The Detroit Red Wings are mired in a four game slide after falling at Philadelphia 3-2 on Tuesday. Detroit saw Dennis Cholowski score a second period power play goals with Jacob De La Rosa scoring two minutes in to the third. Jonathan Bernier absorbed the loss for the Red Wings with three goals allowed on 36 shots.
James van Riemsdyk, Radko Gudas and Shayne Gostisbehere each found the back of the net for Philadelphia. Gostisbehere and Riemsdyk also posted assists to lift the Flyers and make the 19 stops of Carter Hart a winner.
The Carolina Hurricanes defeated Arizona 3-0 on Sunday for their second victory in eight contests. The Coyotes generated just 23 shots and Adin King was charged with three goals on 27 shots to get the loss.
Warren Foegele and Andrei Svechniko lit the lamp in the second for the Hurricanes with Sebastian Aho scoring in the third. Calvin de Haan provided a pair of assists for Carolina who received 23 saves from Petr Mrazek.
