The Predators look to shake off a loss their last time out as they head into Raleigh to battle the Hurricanes on Saturday night.
The Nashville Predators look to rebound after a loss to the St. Louis Blues in their last outing as they travel to North Carolina to battle the Hurricanes for a game on paper in which they should have no trouble grabbing two points. The Preds have sort of been up and down this season with an 18-13-7 record and while they are still in the mix in the competitive Central division they just seem to have something off about them this year as they will look like Cup contenders on e night and follow that up with a stinker and come playoff time they can ill afford that streakiness. Nashville has struggled to a 6-8-4 mark on the road this season while the Canes are 8-8-3 at home and have been playing much better hockey of late.
The Hurricanes sit in seventh spot in the Metro division and are nine points back of the third place Rangers and while they are still in the fold I am not entirely sold on where they will go for the rest of the season and see them as sellers at the trade deadline. The Canes are due for a rebuild as they have had Eric Staal, Cam Ward, and Jeff Skinner in the mix for quite a bit and while the latter is still very young and could be a part of the team’s core going forward he would yield a pretty solid return in a deal. The Canes have been plying better of late and while I am not overly excited about this Preds group quite yet I think they have enough to get it done on the road after a nice break.
