PNC Arena and the Carolina Hurricanes welcome the Tampa Bay Lightning to town for a Saturday NHL tilt.

The Tampa Bay Lightning have forged a tie atop the Atlantic after downing the Bruins 4-0 on Tuesday where Tuukka Rask gave up four goals on 36 shots for Boston.

Brayden Point, Victor Hedman, Chris Kunitz and JT Miller supplied the offense for the Lightning. Braydon Coburn and Ryan Callahan posted two assists each for Tampa Bay and Andrei Vasilevskiy recorded 33 saves to get the shutout.

The Carolina Hurricanes are hoping to end the regular season with a win and stop a three game skid following a 4-3 loss at Philadelphia on Thursday. Klas Dahlbeck, Sebastian Aho and Jordan Staal provided the Hurricanes scoring with Scott Darling allowing four goals on 34 shots.

Michael Raffl, Ivan Provorov, Claude Giroux and Jakub Voracek each found the scoring column for the Flyers. Sean Couturier and Shayne Gostibehere gave Philadelphia two assists each and Brian Elliott stopped 19-22 shots for the win.

Over is 9-0 in Lightning last 9 road games vs. a team with a losing home record and over is 12-2 in Lightning last 14 games playing on 0 days rest and Lightning are 5-1 in their last 6 vs. Metropolitan. Over is 4-0 in Hurricanes last 4 vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and Hurricanes are 0-4 in their last 4 vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and Hurricanes are 4-0 in their last 4 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600. Over is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings in Carolina and home team is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings and Lightning are 9-2 in the last 11 meetings in Carolina.

Tampa Bay risks losing the Atlantic crown here so I would expect their best effort in this one…

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
