The Vegas Golden Knights go to Raleigh, North Carolina, to take on the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday at the PNC Arena. The Golden Knights are coming off of a two-game losing streak, losing to the Boston Bruins and the Montreal Canadiens. The Golden Knights have only won one game in their last five, defeating the Ottawa Senators three games ago.

The Vegas Golden Knights are 25-20-7 on the season and are 11-10-4 on the road. The Vegas Golden Knights have quickly dropped all the way down from first place in the Pacific Division to fourth place in the division due to their inconsistency. In the last 11 games the Golden Knights have played, they have gone on a four-game winning streak, as well as a four-game losing streak. However, a few wins and the Golden Knights can skyrocket back up the standings as quickly as they fell, as they are only five points away from the top. Still, they will need to find the form that they had last month and continue their winning streak; they don't do anything better than all teams in the NHL, and they are consistent in what they are going.

The Hurricanes are coming off of a two-game winning streak, defeating the New York Islanders and the Winnipeg Jets. The Hurricanes victory over the New York Islanders snapped a three-game losing streak. Carolina has also been a bit inconsistent like Vegas recently before the losing streak started, the Hurricanes were on a three-game winning streak.

The Hurricanes are 29-18-3 on the season due to having one of the most balanced teams in the NHL. The Hurricanes find themselves in the top 13 in both offense and defense and are in the top five in goals allowed. The Hurricanes are currently fifth in the Metropolitan Division and are sitting at the last wild card spot.

Vegas is 20-32 ATS this season
Golden Knights are 1-4 in their last five vs. Metropolitan.
Carolina is 22-28 ATS this season
Hurricanes are 6-2 in their last eight vs. Pacific.

Both teams have been extremely inconsistent in the last ten games. Both teams have shown that they can go on significant winning streaks, and significant losing streaks. However, as this game takes place when it does, I think that the Carolina Hurricanes are going in the right direction, while the Vegas Golden Knights are going in the wrong direction. With the inconsistency, it's difficult to know when those hot or cold streaks end, but I think that the Carolina Hurricanes hot streak continues at least for one more game as they will win this one close. Final Score Prediction, Carolina Hurricanes win 5-4.
