The Ducks look to retake the series lead after another overtime disappointment as they head back home for a pivotal game five.
The Chicago Blackhawks continue to find overtime luck this time a period earlier as they skated to another thrilling victory at home in game four and now take to the road looking to take their first lead of the series. The Hawks got a massive goal from Antoine Vermette who netted his biggest since joining the team from Arizona on a second chance opportunity and completely validating the team's move to acquire him at the trade deadline and now they set up an opportunity to return home with a chance at advancing to the Stanley Cup finals but they know the Ducks will give it all they have in this one. Corey Crawford hasn't been particularly sharp over the last few games but he certainly has the ability to steal a game and he will need to do so once again here if he is going to lead the Hawks to a road win in Anaheim on Monday night.
The Ducks could very well have already qualified for the Cup finals if they had a couple of bounces go their way but now they head back to the Honda Center knotted up at two games apiece and could very well head back to the United Center with their backs against the wall. Anaheim has already yielded more losses in this series than they did in the first two rounds combined and it shouldn't come as a surprise as Chicago is one of the best teams in the league but they are big time favorites heading into Monday's game and with the way things have gone for them at home in these playoffs it is clear why. This series has had more scoring than I think people anticipated and I think that trend continues here as the offensive fire power overrides the defensive presence and I like this one to go over five again tonight.
