The Chicago Blackhawks look to stave off elimination in game six against the Anaheim Ducks.
The Anaheim Ducks defeated Chicago 5-4 in overtime of game five to take a 3-2 series lead. The Ducks held a late 4-2 lead before the Blackhawks scored twice to knot the score. However the extra session lasted a mere 45 seconds when Matt Belesky’s high wrist shot beat Corey Crawford. Cam Fowler, Ryan Kessler and Sami Vatanen scored in the first for the home team with Patrick Maroon adding a third period tally while Ryan Getzlaf and Jakob Silfverberg posted two assists each. Frederik Andersen recorded 24 stops to get the win and move his team top within a win of their first Stanley Cup finals since 2007.
The Chicago Blackhawks defense fell apart early and their offense fell just short in Monday’s game number five defeat at the Honda Center. Game six is scheduled for Wednesday night at the United Center where the Blackhawks have to win to avoid elimination. The Hawks trailed 3-0 after one period but climbed back in to this with second period tallies off the sticks of Teuvo Terevainen and Brent Seabrook. With Crawford on the bench for an extra attacker Jonathan Toews pulled Chicago to within 4-3 before scoring the equalizer with just 38 seconds left to stun the Honda Center crowd. Crawford recorded 23 stops in an uneven performance..
The over is 5-1 in Ducks last 6 road games and Anaheim are 8-2 in their last 10 road games while the over is 4-1-2 in Ducks last 7 vs. Central. The over is 3-0-1 in Blackhawks last 4 after allowing 5 goals or more in their previous game and is 8-1-2 in Blackhawks last 11 Conference Finals games while going 12-3-1 in Blackhawks last 16 when their opponent scores 5 goals or more in their previous game. The under is 10-2 in the last 12 meetings in Chicago and is 19-7-2 in the last 28 meetings while the Ducks are 5-2 in the last 7 meetings in Chicago. No line out but I lean Hawks for now…
