The Boston Bruins go on the road to oppose the Chicago Blackhawks in a New Year’s Day NHL tilt.

The Boston Bruins squeezed by the Buffalo Sabres 3-2 in overtime on Saturday. Marco Scandella and Johan Larsson tallied for Buffalo. Scandella also had an assist and Carter Hutton recorded 39 saves for the Sabres.

Noel Acciari and Jake De Brusk scored in regulation for Boston while Sean Kuraly lit the lamp in overtime. Tuukka Rask secured the two points for the Bruins with a 26 save effort.

The Chicago Blackhawks have been at the top of their game with wins in five of six following a 3-2 OT victory at Colorado on Saturday. Mikko Rantanen and Nathan MacKinnon scored for Colorado and Semyon Varlamov gave up three goals on 37 shots.

Alex Debrincat and Patrick Kane scored in the first to give Chicago a 2-0 lead with Kane winning it 41 seconds in to overtime. Kane also had an assist and Dylan Strome added two helpers to lift the Blackhawks and make a winner of Collin Delia and his 30 saves.

Over is 4-0 in Bruins last 4 vs. a team with a losing record and Bruins are 4-0 in their last 4 vs. Western Conference and Bruins are 1-5 in their last 6 road games vs. a team with a losing home record. Blackhawks are 0-5 in their last 5 games playing on 2 days rest and Blackhawks are 0-4 in their last 4 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400 and over is 6-1-1 in Blackhawks last 8 vs. Atlantic. Under is 5-2 in the last 7 meetings in Chicago.

This is a complete toss up and I’d just take the plus odds if I were to bet this…

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
