Chicago comes into Sunday night's affair with the Calgary Flames looking to build on Saturday's 5-1 defeat of the Winnipeg Jets. Chicago actually fell behind early in the first period but evened things up shortly after on a goal by Niklas Hjalmarsson and never looked back. The Blackhawks took the lead less than a minute into the second period on a goal by Brandon Bollig and less than two minutes after that increased it on Patrick Sharp's third goal of the season. Nick Leddy and Ben Smith also scored for the Blackhawks Corey Crawford made 26 saves to pick up the win. The Hawks are still the team to beat in the Western Conference even with some of the roster changes they've experienced. They've still got one of, it not the best core in the entire National Hockey League. They'll be hosting a Flames club that they never lose to on home ice and with the way Calgary has been playing since their hot start it's hard to imagine them doing it on Sunday. Calgary fell behind 2-0 on home ice on Friday night to the Detroit Red Wings but rallied to tie it in the second period before eventually falling by a final of 4-3. Sean Monahan continues his great rookie season with seven goals on the year already but unless this club finds a goaltender it's going to be a long year for them. A match up on the road with the Blackhawks isn't exactly what this hockey club needs right now.
