The Hurricanes look to win their second game in a row as they continue their post Christmas break in Chicago against the defending champs.
The Carolina Hurricanes haven’t had the greatest start to the season and are expected to land a top end draft pick in the off season but in the Metro division they aren’t out of it by any means and if they can go on a bit of a run they are in a decent position to challenge for a wild card spot. The Canes have struggled on the road this season as they are 7-8-2 outside of Raleigh and take on a tough Blackhawks team that is looking to pull back within two points of the Blues for second spot in the Central. The Canes will likely turn to Eddie Lack in this one as he will face off against Corey Crawford.
The Blackhawks meanwhile are looking to get back in the win column after losing their final game before the Christmas break but aside from that blemish they had won seven of their last 10 and remain in the hunt in the Central division. Chicago is 20-12-4 this season and 14 of those wins have come on home ice which is a tough spot for the Canes who travel from Raleigh and play in a back to back after defeating the Devils last night. There isn’t too much to think about here as the Hawks are the better team and against a back up goalie they should dominate.
