The Stars look to continue rolling as they head into the UnitedCenter to take on the Blackhawks in a Central division show down.
The Stars look for their fifth win in a row and can continue their ascent up the Western Conference standings with a huge win on Sunday against the Chicago Blackhawks. The Stars were projected to do some damage in the Central division this season but an underwhelming start has them playing catch up and while they are playing their best hockey of the season right now they face a stiff test in playing Chicago on the road. Kari Lehtonen has rebounded nicely after a sluggish start and through no coincidence the Stars have been able to generate success and after a 6-1 thrashing of the Minnesota Wild last night we should see an inspired Stars team here in what should be a great contest. Lehtonen is slated to get the start and he will go up against Corey Crawford for the Hawks.
The Blackhawks return indoors after dropping the Winter Classic to the Capitals on New Year’s Day and they’ll look to reclaim the division lead with a victory as they have slipped a point back of the Nashville Predators. Chicago is fresh off of having five players named to the All-Star game which goes to show they have a boatload of talent on their roster and one that is seriously considered a favourite to win the Stanley Cup and while some question whether or not they can quickly make the adjustment back to fresh ice after the Winter Classic I don’t think it’ll be an issue at all. I do think though that the Stars will keep this close and could possibly push this to overtime and that’s where I’ll side here with great value.
