The Detroit Red Wings visit the Chicago Blackhawks in a Sunday NHL tilt.

The Detroit Red Wings have followed a three game winning streak with back to back defeats after a 3-1 loss at Buffalo on Saturday. Dylan Larkin scored a second period power play goal for the Red Wings but that wasn’t enough with Jimmy Howard allowing three goals on 21 shots.

The Sabres did all their scoring in the second with Kyle Okposo and Casey Mittelstad netting PP markers while Conor Sheary scored unassisted. Altogether seven players recorded points for Buffalo who saw Linus Ullmark make 28 stops.

The Chicago Blackhawks have racked up six consecutive wins after downing Vancouver 4-3 in OT on Thursday. Alex Biega, Josh Leivo and Elias Petterson scored for Vancouver. Leivo also had two assists and Jacob Markstrom allowed four goals on 35 shots.

Chicago received two goals from Alex Debrincat and Brandon Saad in regulation. Jonathan Toews netted the winner in overtime and Dylan Strome added three helpers for the Blackhawks who saw Collin Delia stop 40 shots.

Red Wings are 20-45 in their last 65 games as an underdog and Red Wings are 4-9 in their last 13 vs. Central and Red Wings are 7-16 in their last 23 overall.

Blackhawks are 3-8 in their last 11 Sunday games and Blackhawks are 3-8 in their last 11 games playing on 2 days rest and Blackhawks are 2-6 in their last 8 vs. Atlantic.

Red Wings are 3-9 in the last 12 meetings in Chicago and over is 4-1-3 in the last 8 meetings.

Chicago is hot again so I believe the Blackhawks have the most potential to win…

Pick:
Chicago -.5

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
