The Blackhawks play their first game without the services of Duncan Keith as they welcome the Florida Panthers to the United Center.
The Panthers look to shake off an overtime loss their last time out as they head into the United Center to battle with the defending Cup champions. Florida is off to a nice start and they can continue trending upwards with a big time statement win on the road against the Blackhawks who will be without defenseman Duncan Keith for up to two months thanks to injury. The Cats sit in third place in the Atlantic division and while there is still plenty of hockey left to be played I think this is a position they can get used to as they quietly have an impressive roster led by Roberto Luongo between the pipes. Luongo will get the start as he will go up against Corey Crawford.
The Blackhawks are in a very tough spot at the moment as they had been struggling to start the season posting just a 3-3 mark and now they have to do it without their best defenseman and possible team MVP in Keith. Chicago is usually a sure bet at home and two of their three wins this season has come in Illinois but this Panthers team won't be intimidated and has a great chance to come away with a victory if they're focused 100 percent. The Hawks are good but so are the Panthers and even with Keith in the lineup I would take a shot with the visitors. Without him, I'm on board for sure.
