The Kings head into Chicago on Monday night looking to jump into third place in the Pacific division with a win against the Blackhawks.
The LA Kings haven't had the season many expected they would have after coming off a Stanley Cup victory last year but they are very much in the hunt to get back to the playoffs this season and once they get there they have the talent to repeat. However, LA is in tough down the stretch as they have a very strong schedule including tonight's road game against the hawks who are always strong at the United Center and are very much still in competition for home ice in the first round and will be looking for a big time win. Jonathan Quick will get the start in goal for the Kings as he will go up against Corey Crawford for the Blackhawks.
Chicago sits in third place in the Central division and will likely miss out on winning the division title this year but they are right behind the Blues for second place and only six back of the Predators and the final stretch of the season will go a long way in determining home ice advantage in the first round and beyond. The Hawks are without star forward Patrick Kane and will likely be without him until next year but they do have a ton of depth up front and should be considered a threat even without Kane's presence on the ice. I have no idea why the Hawks are getting plus money here as a home dog as LA has been mediocre at best on the road this season and Chicago needs the win just as badly as the Kings do. I'm on the home side here at a fantastic price.
