The Line: Chicago Blackhawks / Minnesota Wild --- Over/Under:
The United Center and the Chicago Blackhawks look for a 2-0 series lead versus the Minnesota Wild.
The Minnesota Wild look to bounce back from a 4-3 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks in the opener of round two. The Wild dug themselves a quick 3-0 hole in the first period before a second period comeback tied the game briefly. The defensive minded Wild were going to be tested by the scoring talent of the Blackhawks and came up empty in game one with Devan Dubnyk allowing all four goals on 35 shots. Trailing 3-0 in the second the Wild offense came to life in the second with Zach Parise, Jason Zucker and Mikael Granlund each scoring but Minnesota never lit the net again with a scoreless final 20 minutes.
The Chicago Blackhawks nearly blew a 3-0 first period lead before regrouping to down Minnesota 4-3 at the United Center for a 1-0 series lead. The Blackhawks appeared to be on the verge of blowing Minnesota out of the water with a 3-0 lead 20 minutes in but the cheers quickly turned to concern when the Wild roared back to tie it before Teuvo Tervainen tallied the eventual game winner late in the second to cap a frenzied 20 minutes of hockey. Patrick Kane, Brandon Saad and Marcus Kruger each found the back of the net in the first while Corey Crawford recorded 30 stops to get the victory as Chicago looks to boot Minnesota from the playoffs for the third straight year.
