The Canadiens look to play their way out of this current funk as they head into Chicago to battle the defending champs.
The Montreal Canadiens need to get a victory in a huge way as they dropped another contest on the road last night against the St. Louis Blues and now head into Chicago to face off against the Hawks. The Canadiens have been very average over the last month or so and while brighter days are ahead as Carey Price’s return is imminent it is interesting to see just how mediocre they are without the reigning Hart Trophy winner. The Habs have slipped into fifth place in the Atlantic division and are clinging on for dear life to a playoff spot heading into the United Center on Sunday.
The Blackhawks meanwhile are the league’s hottest team and have overthrown the Stars as the team to beat in the Western Conference as they now have the lead in the Central division. The Hawks are won 10 games in a row and are a very impressive 19-5-1 at home this season and catch the Canadiens in a back to back in this one and will likely see Ben Scrivens on Sunday. Chicago is a very good team and when matched up against a side that is playing very average it is easy to lean their way and that is exactly what we will be doing in this one.
