The Line: Chicago Blackhawks -125 / Montreal Canadiens +100 --- Over/Under: 6
The Montreal Canadiens go on the road to oppose the Chicago Blackhawks in a Sunday NHL tilt.
The Montreal Canadiens have played well the past week with wins in three of four following a 5-2 decision at Ottawa on Thursday. The Senators took a 1-0 lead in the first on a Mark Stone tally with Colin White adding a second period PP goal. White and Stone also had assists with Craig Anderson absorbing the loss with four goals given up on 42 shots.
The Canadiens received a pair of goals from Paul Byron with Jeff Petry, Andrew Shaw and Brendan Gallagher also finding the back of the net. Petry added an assist and Carey Price stopped 19 shots to get the win for Montreal.
The Chicago Blackhawks can’t shake out of their funk that has produced losses in six straight after a 4-3 defeat at Vegas on Thursday. The Blackhawks received second period goals from Jonathan Toews and Dylan Strome to erase a 2-0 deficit. Duncan Keith assisted two times and Corey Crawford gave up four goals on 36 shots to get the loss for Chicago.
The Golden Knights received first period goals from Reilly Smith and Deryk Engelland with Artem Anisimov, Jonathan Marchessault and Alex Tuch lighting the lamp in the third. Smith and Max Pacioretty posted a pair of helpers each for Vegas while Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 32 shots to get the win.
Canadiens are 1-4 in their last 5 games playing on 2 days rest and over is 8-2 in Canadiens last 10 vs. a team with a losing record and under is 7-2 in Canadiens last 9 vs. Western Conference. Blackhawks are 0-4 in their last 4 games playing on 2 days rest. Over is 3-0-2 in Blackhawks last 5 when their opponent scores 5 goals or more in their previous game and over is 3-0-2 in Blackhawks last 5 games playing on 2 days rest. Canadiens are 1-8 in the last 9 meetings and Canadiens are 1-7 in the last 8 meetings in Chicago and home team is 13-5 in the last 18 meetings.
It’s odd the Blackhawks are favored because they can’t do anything right. I suppose if Chicago is to win a game this would be it…
