The Blackhawks look to keep rolling and win their eighth game in a row as they host the Nashville Predators at the United Center on Tuesday.
The Nashville Predators are looking for a big time victory on the road against the defending champions as they head into Chicago to battle the Hawks in the midst of a three game losing skid. The Preds were expected to do some damage this season and while a division crown is likely out of the realm of possibility they are still in the hunt for a playoff spot despite seemingly missing a step this season. Nashville acquired some offensive help in the form of Ryan Johansen but it cost them former fourth overall pick Seth Jones who was expected to be the anchor of their blue line for years to come. The Preds are 7-10-4 on the road this season and face a Hawks side that is 18-5-1 at home.
The Blackhawks look every bit as dangerous this season as they were in their banner season a year ago and could very well be the team to beat once again in the Western Conference. Chicago has won seven games in a row and with Dallas finally cooling off the Hawks are just four points out of first place in the Central thanks in large part to their outstanding play at the United Center. Chicago is loaded and while the Preds do have some depth at the blue line I am not sold on them being able to keep up, especially with the run the Hawks are on right now. Fading them at home is a mistake.
