The Chicago Blackhawks look for a commanding series lead when the Nashville Predators visit for game four.

Many eyes were on the Nashville Predators as they were slumping heading in to the postseason but they played decent hockey in splitting their first two games with Chicago. Game number three wasn’t as positive with issues at both ends of the ice in a 4-2 defeat in game three to fall behind 2-1 in the series. The Preds were tagged for three second period goals to fall behind 4-2 which was game over with a scoreless third. Mike Ribeiro and Mattias Ekholm provided the offense for Nashville with Craig Smith adding a pair of helpers while Pekka Rinne struggled between the pipes  with all four goals given up on 30 shots.

The Chicago Blackhawks grabbed the home ice advantage from Nashville via their split of the first two games. The Blackhawks made sure the home ice didn’t switch sides as they exploded offensively while controlling the Predators attack in taking a 2-1 series lead with a chance to go up 3-1 at the United Center with another win Tuesday night. A three goal second period burst put this game in the win column with Brent Seabrook, Jonathan Toews, Andrew Desjardins and Brandon Saad each lighting the lamp while Marian Hossa posted two assists. Scott Darling picked up the win with a 35 stop performance in place of Corey Crawford has been charged with nine goals in four periods in the opening two games at Nashville.

The Predators are 0-4 in their last 4 after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game with the over going  1-0-3 in Predators last 4 Tuesday games and  3-0-2 in Predators last 5 road games vs. a team with a winning home record.  The over is 3-0-1 in Blackhawks last 4 vs. Western Conference and  is 3-0-1 in Blackhawks last 4 vs. Central while the over is 3-0-1 in Blackhawks last 4 overall. Head to head the over is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings and the Predators are 1-4 in the last 5 meetings while the home team is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings. I’m waiting to see who is in the nets and especially so for Chicago so please check back for a pick…

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
