Tuesday NHL action pits the New York Islanders at the Chicago Blackhawks.

The New York Islanders knocked off Anaheim 3-0 on Sunday to record 5thstraight win with a second consecutive shutout. Anaheim struggled offensively with just 19 shots while Chad Johnson allowed three goals on 28 shots.

Cal Clutterbuck scored twice in the first period for the Islanders with Leo Komarov finding the back of the net in the second. Seven players recorded points for New York and Robin Lehner need just 19 saves to pick up the victory.

The Chicago Blackhawks defeated visiting Washington 8-5 on Sunday to end a five game slide. John Carlson scored twice for Washington with Brooks Orpik, Matt Niskanen and Dimitry Orlov also lighting the lamp. Andre Burakovsky and TJ Oshie assisted twice each while Pheonix Copley gave up three goals on 17 shots to get the loss for the Capitals with Braden Holtby stopping 7-11 shots.

Jonathan Toews topped Chicago with a hat trick with Patrick Kane scoring twice while Brandon Saad, Alex Debrincat and Dylan Strome lighting the lamp. Toews and Kane added two helpers each and Collin Delia gave up five goals on 39 shots to pick up the win for the Blackhawks.
