The Blackhawks return home looking to shake off back to back losses that ruined their 12 game winning streak as they take on the Blues at the United Center.
The St. Louis Blues face the unenviable task of taking the defending champs at the United Center on Sunday as the Hawks are a ridiculous 20-5-1 at home this season but St. Louis is a respectable 12-7-5 on the road this season and only trail the Hawks by four points in the Central division head into tonight’s game. The Blues have struggled to score goals this season which is a bit of a surprise considering the roster they have but with a ton of injury concerns affecting them at different levels it makes sense they haven’t been able to put up the same numbers as they did a year ago and luckily for them they have been very strong in their own end. The Blues will start Brian Elliott here as he will go up against Corey Crawford.
The Blackhawks meanwhile have dropped back to back games after getting swept on their Florida road trip that included getting shutout 4-0 by the Panthers on Friday night but now they return home looking for retribution. Chicago is one of the best teams in the league this season and continue to prove their worth as the defending Stanley Cup champions and thanks to their 12 game winning streak they overthrew the Stars as the Central division leaders. Chicago has been very strong at home this season and while they didn’t look good against the Panthers I fully expect they will rebound with Corey Crawford in the crease and get back in the win column.
