The Blues look to take a commanding 3-1 series lead back to St. Louis for game five as they continue their series with the Blackhawks in Chicago on Tuesday.
The Blues got a massive win on the road on Sunday and have stolen back home ice advantage from the Blackhawks in what was one of their best and most resilient efforts of the season but will face a stiff backlash in this one as the Hawks try to even the score. The Blues have long been considered a playoff underachiever and they will look to break the mould this season but have one of the toughest first round matchups against the reigning Cup champions and will have to deal with a raucous United Center crowd once again. Brian Elliott is expected to stay in the St. Louis crease as he will face off against Corey Crawford who is 1-2 in his first two starts of this series and will be out for a better effort on Tuesday night.
The Blackhawks have fallen behind by a 2-1 score line to their division rivals but have an exceptional roster and obviously s ton of playoff experience and in a game where their backs are against the wall I think we will see a much different monster than we did on Sunday. Chicago is deep across the board at all three levels and are a much different group when Duncan Keith is in the lineup and while they couldn’t generate a win in their last uting you can’t keep them down for long, especially with this season’s Art Ross Winner in Patrick Kane having such a great year. I have been a skeptic of this Hawks team down the stretch thanks to a very long and taxing season last year and I have the Blues winning this series, but tonight is a game they need to win and I expect them to do so with confidence.
