NHL | St. Louis Blues (43-31-6) at Chicago Blackhawks (33-37-10)

The St. Louis Blues visit the United Center to face the Chicago Blackhawks in an NHL tilt on Friday.

The St. Louis Blues have made their postseason drive difficult on themselves with four consecutive defeats following a 4-3 loss to the visiting Chicago Blackhawks. The loss has St. Louis sitting one point behind Colorado for the second Wild Card.

The Blues received scoring from Robert Bortuzzo in the first with Brayden Schenn and Vladimr Tarasenko lighting the lamp in the second. Schenn and Tarasenko also added assists and Jake Allen gave up four goals on 26 shots to absorb the loss for St. Louis.

The Blackhawks entered the third period trailing 3-2 with Andreas Martinsen and Blake Hillman providing the offense. Alex Debrincat scored the equalizer at 8:30 before Duncan Keith lit the lamp with a mere nine seconds remaining to give Chicago the win.

Debrincat also posted an  assist  and  JF  Berube  improved to  3-5-1 with  three goals given up on 34 shots as the Blackhawks played the role of spoiler to perfection.

Over is 4-0 in Blues last 4 overall and Blues are 0-4 in their last 4 overall and Blues are 1-8 in their last 9 vs. Central. Over is 3-0-1 in Blackhawks last 4 home games vs. a team with a losing road record and over is 6-1-1 in Blackhawks last 8 vs. Western Conference and Blackhawks are 1-6 in their last 7 games playing on 1 days rest. Over is 5-0-1 in the last 6 meetings in Chicago and over is 9-1-4 in the last 14 meetings and Blues are 5-2 in the last 7 meetings in Chicago.

This is the second game of a home and home series which could decide the Blues season. The over has been the money maker when these teams meet and I’m hoping that trend continues…

I have been a sports fan since I was old enough to pick up a ball and have always been drawn to competition. I don't participate in sporting events any longer but I do like to provide my opinion on games and writing gives me that outlet. I won't always be right but I always put 100% in to every article I do whether it's the World Series or an 0-10 college football team. Mitch shares that same passion and allows me to express myself in my own way.
